WXY architecture + urban design warmly welcomes you to a breakfast event, part of the extensive ECC Italy’s biennial architecture exhibition, Time Space Existence. This event will be a celebration of our  installation, the Palaver Bench, an innovative outdoor seating solution designed to foster conversation among individuals from various cultural backgrounds and communities. The circular form of Palaver Bench serves as a potent symbol for the mission of the Architecture Biennale – promoting inclusion, collaboration, and the democratization of public spaces. True to the spirit of ‘Public means public — no doors no locks’, we are bringing this installation to Giardini Della Marinaressa, a public park adjacent to the Arsenale.

Collaborating with scholars and public space enthusiasts, WXY is presenting this seating to the 2023 Time Space Existence exhibition. The aim is to facilitate and encourage discussions with and among the attendees about the existing and disputed conditions of public places.

WXY’s initiative is a call for reflection on the value and function of public spaces. We aim to stress their integral role in connecting people to talk to someone they may not know. To provoke open dialogues and discussions around the fragility and importance of sitting in public. Join us as we dream public spaces and foster an environment of inclusivity and collaboration.
