Join us for an evening of celebration marking the relaunch of AD, Architectural Design by Axiomatic Editions and the opening of the exhibition and programming series Speakers’ Corner, in partnership with New York Review of Architecture.
Founded in 1930, AD has long stood at the forefront of architectural discourse. As we relaunch this iconic journal, this evening marks not just a new chapter for AD, but also a toast to the first ten titles Axiomatic Editions will release this year.
The centerpiece of the Collective Intelligence portion of the 2025 Architecture Biennale, Speakers’ Corner is a physical platform designed by Christopher Hawthorne, Johnston Marklee, and Florencia Rodriguez. It will also be the site of Restaging Criticism, inspired by the Critic’s Corner exhibition commissioned for the inaugural Architecture Biennale in 1980. Speakers’ Corner is being carried out with New York Review of Architecture.
Please join us for cocktails and conversation at 6 PM on Saturday, May 10th, at the Palazzo Bembo, overlooking the Grand Canal near the Rialto Bridge (Riva del Carbon 4793). The celebration will follow a book talk, The Implacable Book: Writing, Risk, and the Politics of Space, in the same space. Moderated by William Richards and Ashley Simone, the talk will feature authors from ORO Editions and its imprints, Applied Research + Design (AR+D) and Axiomatic Editions.
Reservation required.
