Racconto Palestina. Book Presentation
Publishing house Mesogea and the Palestine Museum invite you to join the launch of the graphic novel 'Racconto Palestina' by Mohammad Sabaaneh.
The European Cultural Centre is delighted to host the launch of the graphic novel ‘Racconto Palestina’ by Mohammad Sabaaneh, published by Mesogea with the support of the Palestine Museum.
The power of the fairy tale and the rawness of the present, in the plates patiently etched by the author one by one on linoleum, become poetic and political testimony, a creative commitment not to forget.
One ordinary day a bird perches on the window of a cell and proposes a deal to the prisoner occupying it: “you bring the pencil, I bring the stories.” In story after story, man and bird as mournful storytellers will pick up the threads of memory and intergenerational trauma of the still ongoing occupation in Palestine, weaving in stark and powerful images the warp of a people held hostage. Its warp is the hope of possible solidarity and the choice to stay, to resist with a determination stronger than the abuse of power.
For more information about the book you can learn more on the dedicated page on Mesogea’s website.
