Organised by The Architectural Review (AR) and the Architects’ Journal (AJ), the W Awards celebrate exemplary work by women and non-binary people and in the fields of gender and architecture. Recognising lifetime achievements, the work of architects with bright futures ahead, as well as contributions to broader architectural culture, the W Awards promote new role models and encourage respect, diversity, and equality in architecture.

The 2025 celebrations will take place in Venice on Friday 9 May 2025, and ECC Italy is proud to be the host. Winners and shortlisted architects, to be revealed on Monday 3 March, will present their work at a public event – attendance will be free and registrations will open soon.

This year also marks the 10th edition of the W Awards’ global reach. Originally launched by the AJ with a focus on the UK, the awards became international in 2016 with the AR’s involvement, highlighting exceptional talent, ambition and leadership from around the world.
