Garda Alexander, a Swiss-German artist based in Zurich since 1990, focuses on painting, sculpture, and spatial concepts. International academic studies in art, design, and medicine inspired her passion for interdisciplinary research. Her fascination with bodily systems has resulted in a unique geometric design language. She sees colour as akin to music, where frequencies or wavelengths can powerfully influence human perception. The artist’s versatile work revolves around the core of colour, light, and form. Her creation of perceptual spaces has expanded to land art projects and retreat spaces within urban architectural contexts. Inspired by the simple purity of nature, Alexander distils complex formal ideas into a reduced context – resulting in transformed spaces where viewers can pause and reflect.
