The Professorship of Structural Design at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), headed by Assistant Professor Pierluigi D’Acunto, explores innovative design and construction approaches that enable more effective use of material resources by taking advantage of the interplay between form and forces in building structures. A fundamental approach to achieving this goal is the development and implementation of geometry-based methods and tools for structural design, such as vector-based 3D graphic statics (VGS).
