With around 18,000 students, the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen is the third largest university of applied sciences in Germany. The Department of Civil Engineering is the first of a total of 12 departments and, with over 1,700 students, is one of the largest at the university. Here in Giessen, the degree programmes in architecture and civil engineering have always been taught together and students attend many courses together. In interdisciplinary projects, cooperation is deepened and all participants benefit from a view into the other disciplines. A high level of practical relevance is promoted in the courses and we have excellent laboratory equipment.
