The University of Tennessee, College of Architecture and Design is a group of interdisciplinary designers that aims to transform the world with good design. With an intentionally broad focus, the college embraces a grass-roots approach to far reaching, meaningful, and enduring design research and teaching. Within the college, the School of Interior Architecture advances the discipline by situating spatially-driven interior architecture, maker culture, and theories of interiority at the forefront of our teaching and research. Public Interiority is a key research area within the school, having hosted the inaugural Public Interiority Symposium and Exhibition in 2023.
