Laboratory for Intelligent Probabilistic Systems & Form Finding Lab, Princeton University

At Princeton University, computer scientists from the Laboratory for Intelligent Probabilistic Systems and civil engineers from the Form Finding Lab combine artificial intelligence tools with mechanics research to enable creative and performance-driven design of structures. This team is joined by collaborators in academia and industry to build the next generation of kirigami pop-up assemblies for load-bearing architectural applications. Kirigami Strata is led by Princeton University affiliates Isabel Moreira de Oliveira, Rafael Pastrana, Cindy Zhang, Sigrid Adriaenssens, and Ryan P. Adams, with the collaboration of Emily Baker of the University of Arkansas, and Vittorio Paris of the University of Bergamo.
