Northwestern University & Princeton University: Adaptive Structures Lab, Form Finding Lab, & Thermofluids of Urban and Natural Environments (TUNE) Lab

Kirigami D’Aria is the creation of a team of engineers. Lucia Stein-Montalvo, who leads the Adaptive Structures Lab at Northwestern University, specializes in the mechanics of shape-shifting structures, and how they can be used for adaptive architecture designs. Sigrid Adriaenssens, director of the Form Finding Lab at Princeton University, is an expert in the mechanics and design of lightweight structures. Elie Bou-Zeid, who leads the Thermofluids of Urban and Natural Environments (TUNE) Lab at Princeton University, focuses on flow dynamics in environmental systems. Hypersonic, a Brooklyn-based engineering design firm, led construction.
