The International Archive of Women in Architecture Center (IAWA), Virginia Tech


Paola Zellner Bassett is an Associate Professor of Architecture and Chair of the IAWA. The IAWA’s mission is to locate, collect, and preserve the original professional papers of women who have contributed to the built environment throughout history, while supporting research within the archive. Zellner’s creative work includes immersive exhibits showcasing the IAWA collections internationally. Her recent co-authored publication is “Expanding Field of Architecture: Women in Practice Across the Globe.” Collaborators on this exhibit include: Dr. Nicholas Polys, Director of Visual Computing; Ben Sandbrook, Systems Engineer in Advanced Research Computing; Charles Nichols, Associate Professor of Music and Composer; Jade Snelling, IAWA Archivist; Elizabeth Gray, Designer and IAWA Liaison.
