Lina Ahmad and Marco Sosa are both Associate Professors at the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises, Zayed University, Abu Dhabi Campus. They are the co-funders of Limass Design Research Unit. Ahmad and Sosa are experts in UAE Modern Heritage, and over the past decade, they have contributed to recording and documenting many modern heritage buildings across the UAE. Their research and pedagogy are deeply rooted in sustainability, exploring the ethos of adaptive reuse and adaptive interiority as fundamental strategies for preserving modern heritage. By integrating these principles into their work, they emphasize the importance of repurposing existing structures to maintain cultural continuity while addressing contemporary environmental and social challenges.
